I signed up for another swap with
AlphaStamps.com; this time it is "Spring
ATC's". I had never made an
ATC (artist trading card), because they are only 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and, well, why bother with something so tiny? Still, they are a popular art form and what the heck, I'll give it a go. I also vowed to use nothing but elements from
AlphaStamps because,
after all, it's their party and they want you to help sell their products.

I dusted off an
ATC idea book I bought years ago. It showed a number ways to enlarge the size of the cards by creatively folding the
card stock. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get the template just right so that the folds and edges matched perfectly and were exactly 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. The afternoon I worked on that melded into evening; my horses and husband were not happy with a late dinner.

I found the lost hours
therapeutic. Today I went back to the studio and made these 3 cards for the
ATC swap. It went much faster, with a minimum of hemming and hawing over design, colors, and
embellishments. BECAUSE I only used what I had purchased for the swap. As for it invoking spring...not so much. This is entirely due to my selection of earthy colored papers.

For the last card I went off the reseveration a bit and used a dragonfly stamp from my inventory. It coordinated with the dragonfy images featured in a number of these new paper. In fact the back of this 2 sided paper is dragonflies flitting around. So, I have overcome my disinterest in ATC's.

Good grief--you've been busy!
You are so productive lately.
Working off steam?
Wave of creativity?
Is the dragonfly image a stamp? It's really gorgeous.
That reminds me....at the Tulip Festival in Dallas last week, a woman was flying a beautiful dragonfly kite. I didn't get a photo because I was driving away when I saw it. It was so lovely, though....it was late afternoon and the sunlight was shining through its wings.
I recieved this card in the swap and I just love it. Thanks so much. www.georgiaartchix.blogspot.com
