Soup Season

I have been making soups recently. This is tomato, one of my favorites. I think I've posted the recipe in the past. Very simple with a can of crushed tomatoes, sauteed onion (carrots if you want), big spoonful of sun dried tomatoes, splash of balsamic and, important, 1/4 tsp of baking soda. I think this neutralizes the acidic nature of the tomatoes. Lastly a bit of cream. I have also been making foccacia with store bought pizza dough. This is so delicious, to me, because I rarely eat any baked goods now. I like olive oil, S&P, sauteed onion, goat cheese, basil and walnuts on mine. I have just enough left for lunch today. MMMM.
