Volume 1 - plus, WELCOME ALPHASTAMPERS

This is the first page in my "Window to My World" book, welcoming all who come this way to have some fun with me.
My medium of choice is paper. And I've been quite content cutting, pasting and stamping for years. Yet, for a while now I've been wistfully dreaming of a sewing machine to spice up these paper projects. Even more so after hand-sewing various stuff...tedious, I tell you. So, with my $50 Amazon gift card from Christmas, I bought a basic machine! Let's add this up: $30 for the online workshop, $80 for the sewing maching (minus the gift card), paint daubers, etc. Are you getting the idea here? In Teresa McFayden's journaling workshop we made a book, then craft till we drop to fill the pages with whatever we want to say about...whatever. Here is the cover of my very first hand made book, Volume 1! Teresa encourages us to use paint (not something I use often), add lots of texture, hand journal, and to let loose with the creative spirit. This has been a leap for me. Actually, I haven't made the leap yet. I'm still gauging the distance between here and there. Alphastamps.com has a user group that is blog hopping this weekend. Alphastamps has awesome products and customer service. Most of my collage sheets come from them. Thank you for stopping by. Nice to meet you.

You made the "leap" fabulously! I love the bright orange flower type thing on the front, tons of depth and fabulously eye catching. What did you use, it looks like you stamped on it.

I agree with Julie Anne, you are going to love sewing, I'm self taught so sewing projects take me a bit but I enjoy them.

Off to check out the rest of your blog!

Good morning just visiting from Alpha stamps and I adore your journal page. A pleasure to meet you as well. I have no blog, but will visit again.
Cheers!

I enjoyed seeing your journal page. I tend to gravitate toward the pastel shabby-chic and sepia & cream vintage looks, and it's a nice change of pace to see a bright & cheery piece!

Love the journal. You are doing something I keep saying I'm going to try. I make tentative stabs at starting a journal and read lots of things that are supposed to help you get going but various journals are still sitting in my house in a state of blankness. Think you like sewing. I started with sewing, moved to paper, and am now doing both since I joined an art quilt guild.

Just dropping by to say Hi! What a great leap to start journaling. I keep trying to hop, hop, hop, but haven't taken flight yet. Now I need to get back to those Easter Bunny ATCs for the AlphaStamps swap!

Fun fun fun journals! One thing I've always loved about the loose page journals is that you can create pages as the whim or creativity fairy strikes and then move on to the boring aspects of life. And you are in Gig Harbor too! What a great place to live.

I take it you like the Graphic 45 circus papers I sure have had a hard time finding it locally the stores told me they didn't purchase "that one" we didn't think many people would find many ways to use it. I disagree. I can think of many off the top of my head and your piece looks wonderful. I am also in your alpha stamp group by the way.

LOVE that page...so fun, it just always makes me smile. Oh man, that was the one thing I hated...can't get my sewing machine to work...I've got to find someone to take it too and get it fixed. So nice to meet ya!
