Faking It

Rather than lamenting, again, the rain, wind, cool temperatures and lack of sun, I decided to resort to chemistry. Yesterday, after my Weight Watchers weigh-in, I headed to the local mall for my biennial excursion. Recently on Martha's TV show, her make-up gal demonstrated the do's and don'ts of bronzers. Do: go for a color that looks like a light suntan. Don't: go sparkly to too dark. I did a little research on bronzers on Sephora's web site, narrowing down possibilities and reading customer comments. Besides Sephora's vast selection of cosmetics and all manner of beauty products to peruse, you can try them on. They are very generous with illuminated make-up mirrors, applicators and even make-up remover and pads. I haven't always found the staff to be helpful, but yesterday I got lucky. With my bronzer in hand, I decided to hoof-it down to Nordstrom's, just because I was so close. My eyes zeroed in on a pair of strappy sandals, yes, Gladiator-esque, and those came home with me, too. So, until I feel the sun on my face, I can fake it.

How did I miss this post?
We must have been having the same brain wave, though, since I just e-mailed you about tanners.

Oh lordee....those sandals.
I hope they look better on you than they do on everyone else. I'm willing to bet YOU can pull it off. They make me nervous, though. Don't tempt the lions, I tell you.
