I'm off for my Caribbean Cruise. No posting whilst at sea. Talk to you when I return, in October.

Done! ?

I've made over 30 ATC's to swap with new friends on the Tim Holtz cruise.

I think I'm DONE. Except for a special memento for Margaret who has been so helpful with cruise tips, and except for a 24th anniversary card for MONDAY!

Picture This

I am an organized, orderly, quiet person. Perhaps you can therefore understand why I am at my wits end by all the hammering, sawing, coming and going that started out 5 weeks ago with painting the exterior of my home. Some wood damage on the back covered porch was explored. Uh huh. It was major water and insect damage. So here we are 5 WEEKS LATER and not done yet. And, no, neither is the painting done.

I take refuge indoors day after day. Yet, prep and packing for my cruise calls to me. No refuge here. But some fun planning. Departure in 10 days.

Sum Total

You would think that one could produce more than 2 ATC's and 2 small charms over the course of a couple hours, huh? Well, this one couldn't. For me today was a twist, turn, this, that, try and try again day. Still, 2 more ATC's for my cruise swapping, plus 2 charms that I will work into the final couple ATC's I want to do. I followed this charm tutorial by Christie Hund. For the "metal" back of each charm I embossed aluminum foil...not very sturdy. Perhaps I MUST BUY some crafting metal??? Can I get a YES YOU MUST BUY MORE SUPPLIES!

Dang Wasps

I was having SUCH a great day: mowing down weeds with our riding lawnmower, enjoying the sunny day, observing the migrating birds. Then, WHAM, I was stung by a wasp. I knew immediately what had happened. As it has happened too many times in the past, usually while riding my horse down a trail. So, I ran for cover...feeling faint and nauseous.

I tell ya'. It took me a while to regain my perspective.

Labor toDay

My labor for Labor Day was to bake a pumpkin pie. Remember 2 years back when canned pumpkin was in scarce supply? I hope that doesn't happen again. Rather than go out for dinner, or trek to town for groceries, I pulled some pork ribs out of the freezer and calculated that hubby would never complain if there was pumpkin pie on the menu.

Then, a little something just for me: a new bookmark to go with the new book I started.
