Sea life of Kona

Here are some of the cuties I swim with everyday.

So Loving Hawaii

Working on my journal in this 80 degree climate. Breakfast through dinner is outdoors in a tank top. Could there be at least 3, no 4, no...heck 12 months of this where I live?

Day 3 In Paradise

These aren't my photos, but this what I look at when at Kahalu'u Park. It's just 2 miles from our Kona condo. Oh, did I mention it's 80 degrees every day?

2 More Days

In two, 2, TWO days, I leave for a week in Hawaii.  Yesterday in Seattle it was so cold, not to mention it may barely reach the mid-40's here today.  Yet where I am going it is warm and sunny.  My mom is already there, in her shorts and sandals at 6 a.m.  I'm an taking Teresa's Letter Whimsy 2 workshop, where she provided a chart for us to fill in with useful lettering tips.  I re-purposed the chart for my current obsession.

Scents

Yesterday was a long trek to Seattle, for a haircut and Valentines lunch. I was able to steal 10 minutes for shopping at one of my favorite stores, Watson Kennedy. It was all about scents.

Madness

No, no.  There is no Madness in my life at the moment (and, oh, I'm so glad).  In fact my life is pretty tranquil since the bedroom painting project completed and the snow & ice melted.  Teresa Mcfayden gave us this little saying as part of her Letter Whimsy 1 workshop; I finally lettered it on a bit of paper to send to my friend Josef.  He has as big a spark as anyone I know.

Debt of Gratitude

There is a Gratitude Movement at present.  Touting the (true) importance of feeling and expressing gratitude.  For once, I'm ahead of the trend because I am in good graces with my gratitude.  Like many important things, it should start at home.  So, this is for you, honey, my husband, to whom I am forever in a debt of gratitude.  Not that I want to be!  Sometimes I want to pout and withhold my favor due to some small injustice done to me.  But in good conscience I cannot, because of this debt of gratitude.  Can I ever get paid up?  I fear not due to the regular assistance I receive with hard chores around the property (where we live so that I can keep my horses), with checks written for upgrades (for the decor that is important to me but matters not to him), for stalwart support of my family (to whom I would like to turn a blind eye from time to time).  Therefore, today, in payment for your willing and cheerful teamwork, between, betwixt and apres cooking our pork tenderloin dinner, I shall cook up a Super Bowl buffet just for you.

There shall be vegetarian chili, with snacks of olive hummus and old school cream cheese with chutney on top.
Followed by your favorite oatmeal raisin cookies.

Today my debt shall be repaid with LOVE.

And More Lettering

These are from lessons 10 and 11 of the Letter Whimsy workshop.  I think one reason I'm enjoying this so much, and practicing almost daily, is that I can do it with very few supplies, at my dining table.  So it's portable and quick to set-up and put away.
I am learning to embrace my limitations (like a bit of an unsteady hand), and to add in some basic drawing.  Only 1 lesson left in the series.  BUT, Teresa is going to offer a Letter Whimsy 2 as a continuation.  Already signed up!
