It's another birthday for my mom. I am taking Mom and Sis to lunch at a waterfront restaurant with beautiful views and OK food (can't have it all, huh?). Then she wants to shop a bit at the most Whole Foods-like market close to us. She still remembers their key lime pie from last year. I decided to use Aubudon's Flamingo for her birthday card. I've recently found in my stash a booklet of postcards with his birds, so that was the starting point. I also am really liking a paper pad of K & Company's Engraved Garden; that became the background paper.
I rarely buy a pad of paper as I'm more of a mix/match crafter. However a number of paper artists have shown me the beauty of using paper collections to add depth with layers of coordinating designs. I'm really glad I bought this pad while in Salem.
Other paper collections I recommend investing in are Graphic 45's. On this card I've mixed in some of their designs from 2 of their pads, Olde Curosity Shoppe and Tropical Travelogue. Add in a some old paper scrap and velvet ribbon, glitter, and it's done. Happy Birthday Mom.

I hope you have a great lunch.
I'm so glad to have you in my life. I require another installment of The Life of Charlotte. Soon.
Thanks for being alive, Mama Crab!
