Shredd'n

For Garrett's 12th birthday Bob and I bought him a skateboard. Not the type found at Target, you understand. This is how a proper skateboard is built. Note the evidence of road rash trauma to the elbow of the skateboard store mechanic. Garrett definitely noticed.
While I felt there were lots of boards to choose from, it came down to selecting one with or without professional endorsements/logos. Otherwise the boards are exactly the same. Without was $85 and with was $125. The without selection was pretty plain and pretty limited. Still, Garrett zeroed in on a board with a chainsaw logo. A chainsaw?! Garrett says "Yeah, I love chainsaws 'cause you can cut off an arm and there's lots of blood." My stars.
Just across the street from the skateboard store is a skate park. However, our novice did not want to get out of the car. Much coaxing and "Get out of the car" orders from Auntie required to remove the child from his car seat. Once on pavement, he got into it. Shortly his dad arrived and soon Garrett was venturing where the big boys played. Shredd'n.

I went down this road with my 13 year old son Jack...he bought with his own money and chose not to have the logo. I think he'd like to trade up though next opportunity he gets!
