Santa Fe Musings

We had only 3 nights and 2 days in Santa Fe. In that short span we devoted most of 1 day driving to Taos and back. I have zero pictures of Taos Pueblo because we were only there about 20 minutes! A sudden sleet squal blew in and blew us out. Still, the pueblo is 1000 years old so you can't help but
be transported.
Another riviting sight is the Rio Grande Gorge. You are driving on a flat mesa when suddenly beneath you the ground opens up to this vista. This is about 10 miles outside of Taos Village.
Art can be seen everywhere Here is an engaging fellow who greeted me on Canyon Drive. Architecture is not diverse, by design, so there is a sense of "brown" when I think about Santa Fe. And yes, it was still Winterish, no spring green in sight. We had a delicious meal at the Pink Adobe. It is even more charming inside than out. There is a kiva fireplace in each of the cozy dining rooms...ahhh, the fragrance of pinon Gayle and Paul, here with Bob, were such generous guides. They love their hometown and were tireless in showing it to us. Excuse the "under construction" tape. Construction is omnipresent, including in the lobby of our hotel, La Fonda.
